A shocking news came from AirAsia fan page in a social network last week. Some AirAsia flights to Europe (London and Paris) and India (Mumbai and New Delhi) will be suspended with the last flight 31 March 2012 for London, 30 March 2012 for Paris, 31 January 2012 for Mumbai and 22 March for New Delhi. Their reasons were due to soaring taxes and higher jet fuel prices. It is said that AirAsia X is re-aligning its network to focus on core markets. AirAsia X will concentrate capacity in their core markets of Australasia, China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea.
This news was not only shocking but also a bad one for us. Paris to Kuala Lumpur hub was an alternatif to fly cheaply to Asia. Plus AirAsia has many interesting destinations in Asia. We planned insyaallah someday we'll fly with them to explore Asia. Sometime before we heard that it's still expanding. They're in talk to open a new connections from Germany, from Cologne-Bonn airport or and a Berlin airport. With this decision, I myself think that the expnasion to Germany will be cancelled, too. I hope it's not a long suspending and they will operate and continue their european flight. Or I hope there will be many budget tickets from conventional carriers.
